    The problem with this book is that there really isn't a message or a point. This one seemed to have amature designs throughout the whole thing, I only actually liked maybe 10 pages? The designs just seemed to be lacking in the wow factor, nothing grabbed my attention.
    Very dissapointed in this book, its definitely NOT a must have book.. {Farley} takes a sweeping approach to the topic and aims to place the technological changes in ammunition manufacturing into a broad social and cultural context following the spirit of work by Merrit Roe Smith, Judith McGaw, and Robert Gordon. The result is an intriguing survey of the early changes at the arsenal that raises numerous questions for further research. I didn't know what to expect when I started this book; especially with the opening chapters about France, I almost didn't become fully immersed. Overall this is a great book to have in your library.. Since the publication of The Winding Stair a good deal more information is available and
